Catholic University of Ghana SRC Election Nominations Now Open

Fiapre, April 17, 2024 — The Office of the Electoral Commission (EC) at the Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre, has officially opened the nomination process for the upcoming 2024/2025 Student Representative Council (SRC) General Elections. This marks a significant step in the university’s democratic process, allowing students to lead and represent their peers in the next academic year.

The nomination period commenced on April 17th and will run until April 20th, 2024. Aspiring candidates are invited to step forward and register for the positions of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Deputy General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Deputy Financial Secretary, Public relations officer, Gender Commissioner, Private Universities Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG) President, PUSAG Secretary, and Weekend Representative President.

According to the EC, each role carries a different nomination fee, reflecting the responsibilities and scope of the position. Here is the breakdown of the fees for each position:

  • President & Vice President – GH₵ 500
  • General Secretary & Deputy General Secretary – GH₵ 400
  • Financial Secretary & Deputy Financial Secretary – GH₵ 400
  • Public Relations Officer – GH₵ 200
  • Gender Commissioner – GH₵ 200
  • PUSAG President – GH₵ 250
  • PUSAG Secretary – GH₵ 200
  • Weekend Representative President – GH₵ 200

Interested students are encouraged to collect the nomination forms and take the bold step toward becoming key decision-makers in the university’s governance. The nomination forms are available at the SRC offices and must be submitted within the allocated time frame.
