Hello and welcome to our library! My name is Charles Arthur, and I serve as the Deputy Librarian at the Catholic University of Ghana. Born on September 13, 1968, in Ejura in the Ashanti Region, I've been fortunate to experience a rich and diverse journey both academically and professionally. Growing up as a child of a petty trader, I learned the value of community and collaboration early on, a principle that has guided me throughout my life.

My Journey

My educational journey began in the vibrant lanes of Ejura, where I attended primary and middle school between 1974 and 1982. The quest for further education took me to Anum Presbyterian School and then to Nkroful Secondary School, where I completed my Advanced Level Certificate. With a passion for knowledge, I pursued higher education at the University of Ghana, earning a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and History, followed by a master's degree in Library Studies.

Professional Path

I embarked on my professional journey as a Librarian at the State Enterprises Commission in 2002. A year later, I became part of the founding team at Catholic University, taking on the role of Assistant Librarian. Today, as the Deputy Librarian, I am deeply committed to enhancing our library services through the innovative use of ICT tools. My aim is to provide our users with seamless access to information products and services that support their academic and personal growth.

My Vision

As a proud husband and father of three, my values of faith, family, and education deeply influence my work. I envision our library not just as a repository of books, but as a vibrant hub of knowledge, collaboration, and discovery. Whether you are a student, faculty member, or visitor, my team and I are here to support your journey of learning and exploration.

Let’s Connect

I am always eager to hear from our library users. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to continually improve our services and resources. Feel free to reach out with your suggestions, questions, or just to share your latest discovery in the world of knowledge.

Warm regards,

Charles Arthur
