The B.Sc. in Actuarial Science programme is to provide the requisite manpower to fill the gap in the paucity of experts who can perform task involving mathematical modelling and risk assessment in financial systems.
The programme is designed to develop students' competence in solving quantitative problems of risk analysis, finance and statistics, e.g., life insurance and general insurance. The emphasis is to provide introductory analyses needed to understand the actuarial models and their applications in the job market, e.g., insurance brokers and in academic profession such as insurance lecturers.
Graduates' skills can be applied in industry such as Statisticians, Quantitative Analysts, Financial Analysts, just to mention a few.
