Prof. Daniels Kwabena Obeng-Ofori was inducted into office as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of the Catholic University College of Ghana, Fiapre at a colourful ceremony at the University College’s Campus, on Saturday, 26th November, 2016. The Chairman of the Governing Council, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie; the Bishop of the Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese of the Catholic Church, performed the induction ceremony. He was supported by Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ghana and Prof. Eric Magnus Wilmot, Provost of the College of Educational Studies who represented the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast

 The new Vice-Chancellor swore the Oath of Office which was administered by the Chairman of the Governing Council. In his acceptance speech, Professor Obeng-Ofori paid a glowing tribute to the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference (GCBC) and Prof. James Hawkins Ephraim, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, for their show of leadership that had brought the University College thus far. Prof. Obeng-Ofori outlined his vision of rebranding, revitalizing and repositioning the University College to take its rightful place as the leading Catholic private University in Ghana and beyond. He indicated that he would provide leadership that would enhance the national and international visibility of the University College by focusing on innovations in the delivery of teaching, learning and research, and the management of the University College to secure wider impact on society.

He gave a word of assurance that for the imperative convenience of its global clientele, the University College would aspire to be global in its offerings, structuring of programmes, and manner of doing business as a citadel of holistic Catholic education and academic excellence where discipline and moral values would underpin knowledge.
SProf. Obeng-Ofori instituted TWO academic awards to honour his dear wife, Rosaline who was called to her maker barely a month to his induction, including:

1 Professor and Mrs. Rosaline Obeng-Ofori Prize for the Best Female Graduating Student in Education at CUCG (His wife started her career as a professional French tutor)

2 Professor and Mrs. Rosaline Obeng-Ofori Prize for the Best Female Graduating Student in Agriculture at UENR (The immense Contribution of Women to Food Security in Africa).

A special induction prayer was said by the Catholic Bishops present at the ceremony including Most Rev. Philip Naameh, President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference; Most Rev. Joseph Osei Bonsu, Bishop of Konongo-Mampong and the immediate past President of GCBC; Most Rev. Nyarko, Bishop of Techiman; Most Rev. Afoakwa, Bishop of Obuasi; and Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, the Bishop of Sunyani and the Episcopal Chairman of the University College.

The programme was attended by a host of renowned personalities in academia, industry, the clergy Nananom including parents.
