You must all rededicate yourselves and be committed to the good cause of the University College in its rebranding and re-positioning agenda. You should be very active, committed to your responsibilities and provide quality services to students, staff and all those who patronize the services and products of the institution without fear or favour
Professor Daniels Obeng Ofori made these remarks at a maiden meeting with the staff of the Registry on his first day of assumption of Office at the Catholic University College of Ghana, Fiapre on Monday, 4th July, 2016. It was a refreshing moment to welcome the New Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Obeng Ofori acknowledged the enormous role and functions of the Registry as the engine room in any academic institution. He welcomed the staff of the Registry and commended them for attending to his invitation for the meeting at a short notice.
He encouraged the Registry staff, in particular, to desist from bad attitudes towards work in the University College. “As staff of the Registry, you ought to do everything to eschew lateness to duty, absenteeism, absconding, character assassination and all manner of discriminatory tendencies that retard growth and development” he stated. He encouraged the staff to observe the concept of confidentiality in such sensitive office and put up the best of positive attitudes towards work.
The New Vice-Chancellor charged the Registry staff to up their game in uplifting the image and integrity of the University College in all spheres of its activities and services. He assured the staff of his support for any good cause but will not condone mediocrity and favouritism. “Everyone must develop loyalty and commitment for the institution and not an individual officer,” he remarked.
Prof. Obeng Ofori motivated the staff of the Registry to do everything possible to rebuild confidence in themselves in order to provide quality services and assistance to students and clients alike. He called on the staff to regenerate the expectations of the general public in the Catholic University College in the offer of quality, holistic education.
The new Vice-Chancellor had earlier in the day met with the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, the Deans of the Faculties and the Departmental Heads to be abreast with the up-to-date development of the University.
