"You, must therefore, be creative and innovative in whatever you do. You ought to have, as a basic principle, the determination to achieve excellence in your various fields of endeavours".
This was contained in a speech delivered by Prof. Daniels Obeng-Ofori, the Vice-Chancellor of the Catholic University College of Ghana, Fiapre (CUCG) at the 23rd Matriculation ceremony of the University College on campus at Fiapre-Sunyani at the weekend.
Prof. Obeng-Ofori charged the newly matriculated students to be very serious to achieve their objective of enrolling at the Catholic University College. He encouraged them to eschew all tendencies that were likely to sway them from focusing on their academic obligations as students of CUCG.
The Vice-Chancellor inspired them to be of good behaviour, and to obey rules and regulations of the institution. They were advised to chart the positive cause of promoting their potential and the image of the University College.
A total of 124 fresh men and women were formally admitted to the University College in the January-February 2017 enrollment session, and initiated as Junior Members in Statu Populari. The number is made up of 77 females and 47 males registered in the various programmes of the five faculties including BSc. General Nursing. The Faculties include Economics and Business Administration (E&BA); Education (EDUC); Public Health and Allied Sciences (PHAS); and Information and Communication Sciences and Technology (ICST).
Present at the event included the Faculty Deans, a cross section of both academic and administrative staff and students.
